OSTEOPOROSIS is a disease of the skeletal system characterized by a decrease in bone mass and deterioration of bone tissue with a consequent increase in fragility and susceptibility to fractures, among which the most frequent are the vertebral ones followed by fractures of the femur and upper limb. In the presence of osteoporosis, an imbalance is created between the amount of bone absorbed by the osteoclasts and that produced by the osteoblasts. The bone becomes fragile, porous and the risk of fractures increases even with minimal trauma.
Osteoporosis is most common in the following cases:
- Women after menopause
- Elderly people
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Alcohol abuse
- Smoking
The waveforms of this treatment are designed to stimulate the regeneration of bone tissue by acting directly on the mechanisms of cellular metabolism, as demonstrated by numerous in vitro and animal studies. Well-designed in vivo clinical studies (RCTs) carried out on a large number of patients are currently underway with the aim of confirming the results already available in the literature.
